We are experts in the maritime, river, estuarine and coastal sectors, providing consultancy advice and civil and structural design services to clients in a number of sectors. What will you do

We have one currently available: Technical Director – Coastal This critical position has an Australian, New Zealand & Pacific remit to support staff, projects and business development for the Water & Maritime (W&M) Australia Advisory Group (AG). The AG currently has almost 80 technical staff based out of 3 offices in Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane and aspires to grow. As Technical Director, you will help lead and grow our team in the coastal space. We have a strong team in Haskoning Australia with a significant amount of forward work and we require a growth in our senior coastal engineering capabilities plus leadership in this integral area of our business. As such, we are looking for a new Technical Director to help us expand our offerings, grow our team and to promote our skills externally to our clients and the market place. The roles will encompass several areas: Technical Expertise Business Development/Account Management Development of Staff This will include the ability to deliver discipline-specific advisory, design engineering and project management solutions that meet the Company’s, clients and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. As a senior member of the team your role will be key in showing and growing our top level expertise and will also significantly contribute to account management and our market growth, profitability and reputation. You will have an outward-looking focus, with an ability to deliver quality solutions and gaining high levels of client satisfaction. Further to this, as Technical Director, you will have accountability for developing and supporting the team that you work for – through coaching and mentoring staff in your teams to expand and develop their capabilities and through that help improve our service offering to our clients. What you bring

You will have built a career and strong reputation within the Coastal Engineering space, with strong technical skills and experience at winning new and retained work and building pipelines of work with your clients. Further, you are passionate about helping the team around you grow and develop through focused support, coaching and mentoring. Specific things you will need include: Civil Engineering Degree (or equivalent) – essential Significant network within the Australian Coastal market – essential Significant project experience in Australia – essential 15+ years’ experience in consulting – essential Experience with writing proposals of small to large projects – essential Chartered with IEAust or RPEQ What we offer you
