AEMO at the Heart of Energy
AEMO is Australia’s independent energy system and market operator and system planner. AEMO’s purpose is to ensure safe, reliable and affordable energy today, and enable the energy transition for the benefit of all Australians. Australian governments are now committed to a net zero economy for Australia by 2050 and our vision is to enable this. We have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to co‑design the future of our energy systems, and our core values revolve around character, commitment, and connection. Join us as we contribute to this significant transition in the energy sector.
About the role
You will be joining the Communications team, the custodians of AEMO’s reputation, that plays a critical role in positioning the organisation with internal and external stakeholders through effective management of media, communications, digital assets and energy education.
You will help tell the story of Australia’s once in a generation energy transition by turning complex technical insights and data into clear, engaging visuals that inform and educate AEMO’s diverse stakeholders. This is not a simple graphic designer position. It’s a broad creative role that will suit someone with a range of expertise from digital design to video production, motion graphics, illustration and even audio engineering – or someone who has the desire and ability to grow their skill set and roll up their sleeves.
This role reports to the Senior Graphic Designer.
What you will be doing
Help to tell the story of Australia's energy transition through engaging and informative creative content.
Maintain AEMO's strong brand identity and uplift the quality of internal and external design assets by creating, updating, and maintaining social media infographics, fact sheets and explainer documents.
Work on major corporate publications.
Build Dynamics templates and banners, PowerPoint presentations, and undertake video production and editing.
When required, assist the Senior Publications Advisor to create consistent, readable and well formatted Word documents using styles.
What you will bring to the role
Diploma or Bachelor of Design, or equivalent experience in a similar role in a technically complex sector.
Visual storytelling and infographic design and data visualisation experience.
Experience in social media asset design, document design and layout, and presentation design.
Advanced expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
Experience with Canva, and Video editing (Premier Pro).
Please provide a link to your portfolio or relevant examples of work.
In return some of our benefits to you
Flexible working: work from home, part time, job share, hybrid options, and additional leave options
Professional development via projects, industry networks, job rotation, study assistance and more.
Give back with up to 4 days of volunteering leave per year.
Reward your hard work with annual performance bonuses (subject to eligibility).
Embrace a healthier you with our wellness program, discounted health insurance, gym perks and our comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
