is currently recruiting for a
Principal Mechanical Engineer
to join our growing Engineering team in Perth.
Reporting to the
General Manager Engineering
the
Principal Mechanical Engineer
will:
Conduct timely reviews of Project mechanical drawings to achieve full compliance with designintent.
Approve, guide and review engineering designs, including calculations & design development.
Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes.
Identify scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly.
Liaise with and provide professional support to drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverables.
Develop technical documentation including scopes of work and specifications using relevant industry standards and guidelines.
Approve and assist with the delivery of accurate material take-offs as and when required.
Evaluate and approve tenders, provide technical recommendations for the purchase of mechanical equipment from vendors where necessary.
Inter-discipline co-ordination of technical aspects of the design.
Approve and assist with the delivery of engineering documentation in relation to scope, quantities, cost and schedule.
Contribute to engineers-in-training professional development mentoring and identify avenues of development.
The expertise you'll bring
Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or the equivalent
Minimum 15 years of experience in Mineral Processing ideally in an EPCM environment
Mechanical/Piping design experience in mineral processing plants
Experience in gold, base metals and iron ore is advantageous
Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including Clients, vendors and co-workers
Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge across a broad range of disciplines
Proven time management and organisational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
