Site Reliability Engineer

Our client is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer, on an initial 6 month Day Rate Contract to help deliver a number of critical projects for their businesses.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will own the reliability, resilience and performance of our business-critical platforms. You’ll be a thought leader and SME to help the evolution of SRE maturity across the organisation — embedding best practices in observability, automation, incident response, and infrastructure as code.

Working closely with the SRE Lead, you’ll shape how we design, build and operate systems at scale. This is a senior, hands‑on role with architectural influence and responsibility.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead reliability engineering initiatives across cloud-native and distributed systems.

Design and implement scalable observability frameworks (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, alerting strategy).

Drive automation to reduce operational toil and improve deployment velocity.

Lead major incident response, facilitate blameless post‑incident reviews, and implement systemic improvements.

Architect and enforce Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices (Terraform) across environments.

Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment reliability within cloud environments.

Champion proactive resilience engineering, including disaster recovery and chaos testing.

Partner with engineering teams to embed reliability and performance best practices from design through production.

Mentor Associate and mid‑level engineers, elevating SRE capability across the team.

What You’ll Bring

5+ years’ experience in SRE, DevOps or Platform Engineering roles supporting production systems.

Strong experience with cloud services in enterprise environments (Ideally Azure and AWS).

Deep understanding of observability practices and monitoring tooling.

Strong working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Experience operating high‑availability systems and improving MTTR.

Strong incident management capability and systems thinking mindset.

Ability to influence technical direction and drive reliability standards across teams.

Curiosity for emerging technologies and a passion for building resilient systems that enable meaningful business outcomes.
