Your responsibilities will include:
We are expanding our Configuration Management capability at Lockheed Martin Australia across our Aeronautics, Integrated Air & Missile Defence, and Maritime portfolios.
This role offers the chance to take on a leadership oriented position in configuration and change governance for F-35 Training Systems. You will ensure compliance, traceability, and integrity across systems, software, data, and documentation, while mentoring and guiding teams.
You don’t need a traditional CM background. If you have worked in systems engineering, software builds, PLM, requirements management, document/records management, or EDRMS, this is a great opportunity to apply your expertise in a critical Defence program.
Key responsibilities
Lead program-level configuration and change governance across multi-disciplinary teams
Oversee Change Control Boards and make key decisions on configuration changes
Ensure configuration baselines, system configuration, software builds, and product integrity
Apply configuration management standards (EIA-649C, ISO 10007) and enforce best practice governance
Manage technical data, documentation, EDRMS records, and controlled access
Support configuration audits, design reviews, and verification activities
Mentor and guide team members, fostering consistency and emerging leadership skills in configuration and document management
Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment across requirements management, software documentation, and systems processes
About you:
You are an emerging leader or experienced in configuration management, document/records management, or related fields, with a strong understanding of governance, compliance, and cross disciplinary collaboration.
You are methodical, analytical, and confident taking ownership of program level processes while guiding teams and stakeholders to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
This role is ideal for someone looking to grow into a lead configuration role and take responsibility for shaping program wide governance processes.
Essential skills
Demonstrated experience in configuration management, document/records management, or data governance within complex engineering, software, or systems environments
Strong understanding of configuration control, change management, and product lifecycle governance
Experience working with PLM systems (PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, 3DEXPERIENCE/Enovia)
Proven ability to maintain data integrity, traceability, and controlled records across multi-tool environments
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and governance skills
Strong analytical, organisational, and process compliance capabilityDemonstrated or emerging leadership, mentoring, or team guidance experience
Special Requirements:
