About the role
The Senior Medical Officer role is to provide overnight medical oversight and care from 2100 – 0700 hours.
The primary purpose of this role is to undertake the care of the patient that requires medical attention overnight, in the absence of the Visiting Medical Officer, or in the event of an emergency, when medical attention is required immediately, to prevent further deterioration and promote positive patient outcomes.
Your main duties will include:
Review of all post surgical patients on the general ward
Point of Clinical Escalation in the absence of the VMO
Liaise with ICU Intensivists from other Calvary sites like CNAH or CAH
Liaise with VMO and Anaesthetists regarding patient care and management
About you
Fully Registered medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
PGY 3 minimum
Advanced Life Support 1 and 2
Post Graduate experience in ICU, Anaesthetics, Airway Management and or ICU
