Vail Resorts Australia is seeking an accomplished
Human Resources Director
to lead the Australian people strategy across our iconic alpine resorts—Perisher, Falls Creek and Hotham.
This is a senior leadership opportunity within a highly seasonal, dynamic and people-intensive environment. The HR Director will play a critical role in shaping leadership capability, workforce strategy and employee experience—particularly as we prepare for and deliver peak winter operations, when people decisions directly influence business performance, growth and profitability.
Reporting to the VP, Human Resources – Enterprise, you will partner closely with Resort General Managers and senior leaders, providing strategic clarity, data-informed insight and confident, values-led leadership. You will leverage enterprise frameworks and Centres of Excellence to deliver scalable, locally relevant HR solutions that address the region’s most complex workforce challenges.
Ideally based in
Jindabyne , with regular travel to Falls Creek and Hotham, this role offers a deliberate lifestyle choice for an experienced HR leader seeking enterprise influence while living close to the business, the operations and a connected alpine community.
What You'll Lead
Development and delivery of an end-to-end Australian HR strategy aligned to enterprise priorities
Leadership and capability development of the Australian HR team
Workforce planning, talent acquisition, succession and performance management in a seasonal environment
Employee and industrial relations, including enterprise agreements and award frameworks
Total rewards, labour optimisation and people analytics
Organisational design, change management and operating model evolution
Strong HR governance, compliance, safety leadership and budget oversight
What You'll Bring
Significant senior HR leadership experience within large, complex, multi-site organisations
Deep ER/IR expertise, including enterprise bargaining
A proven track record leading organisational change and transformation
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to use data to drive business outcomes
Executive presence, sound judgement and a values-led leadership style
Experience in seasonal or operational industries such as tourism, hospitality or leisure (highly regarded)
