About us
LAAS is a person-centred disability support provider who is devoted to providing our clients with caring and creative support services enabling them to pursue new opportunities and engage more in community. For almost 40 years, Lifestyle Assistance and Accommodation Service (LAAS) inc. has delivered individualised disability support services across the Riverland, and fought for the rights of people with disability, tearing down barriers so that everyone has the opportunity to participate in community and be a valued and contributing member of our society.
Our vision is to see our clients better served by innovative and person-focused opportunities and services that support them to live independently and participate more richly in community.

Our Board
The Board of Directors sets the organisation’s strategic direction, ensuring governance, compliance, and alignment with our values: collaboration, innovation, inclusion, flexibility and opportunity. Appointments are for fixed terms, with a modest stipend. The Board meets regularly to fulfil its governance responsibilities, typically at least ten (10) times per year, with additional meetings convened as required. Meetings may be held in person, online, or in a hybrid format to support accessibility, participation, and efficiency.

As a Board member, you will contribute to an organisation that empowers South Australians with disability. You will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of LAAS, ensuring strong governance, alignment with organisational values and ongoing sustainability.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in:
Finance
(with a strong background in accounting)
Governance
and compliance
Legal/Industrial law
and HR
Strategic thinking
and organisational leadership
Lived experience
with disability or as a family/carer
Clinical expertise
in disability, health or allied services
