Our client is a national professional services organisation providing career transition, training and outplacement services to large corporate clients.
About the role
As Head of Technology, you will be the main point of contact and IT subject matter expert for the organisation and related group companies. This role lies in the main group holding company that oversees the IT across the 4 different companies owned by the group.
On one hand, you shall be working with the leadership team, suppliers and MSP to oversee technology operations and drive the use of technology to drive organisation-wide strategic IT improvements and outcomes. There is an existing pipeline of projects and systems that you will be expected to get the ground running and take charge of their implementation and adoption.
While on the other hand, you will be the only IT person in the organisation; thus you will be providing urgent end‑user support as well. Thus, you need to be passionate about all aspects of IT and not afraid to get your hands directly and work independently.
Responsibilities
Support strategic growth plans including managing the implementation and integration of new and existing systems
Provide advice and recommendations to the leadership group around technology strategy, governance and information security
Research about new technologies in the market and recommend the leadership team about new technologies
Develop and continue development of the technology roadmap and prepare business cases and cost/benefit analysis of new initiatives
Drive digital and technology transformation across the business, ensuring strong project governance, effective change management, software development delivery and uptake
Contribute to tender preparation and respond to client's tender's information security questionnaires
Manage all IT operation, support services and risk to ensure a robust IT environment
Develop, implement and maintain IT policies, procedures and disaster recovery plan(s) in association with MSP
Project manage IT initiatives including the planning, tracking and executing
Strategic Responsibilities: IT roadmap – recommendations to leadership team (with or without MSP's support); Procurement – the selection of hardware, vendors, etc (with or without MSP's support); Tender response – help organisation comply with IT requirements for the tender process and respond / negotiate with clients about the IT requirements of the tender (with or without MSP's support); New software and IT initiatives identification; Project manage initiative; Identify risks and opportunities (with or without MSP's support); Proactively identify and recommend improvements to IT (with or without MSP's support); Have a bird's eye view on IT and provide guidance to CFO and MSP about it
IT Manager Responsibility (Network, Security & Infrastructure) – hands‑on aspect: Local users support (Windows 10, Printing, Office 365, etc…) for immediate requirement; Encourage staff to call MSP support for non‑priority issues; Overseeing and Monitoring infrastructure, network, applications; Servers / Printers / Phone / Video Conference Hardware maintenance and support; Be the hands on the ground; Provide remote support to users when required
Experience and Qualification: You MUST have:
Passionate about technology and technology’s potential to improve stakeholders / clients experience and drive growth
Exposure to strategic planning and execution and in the development of technology road‑maps
Exceptional stakeholder management experience
Proven track record of successful leadership with cross‑functional teams and business units
Proven experience to manage end‑to‑end technology environments including infrastructure, projects, SaaS softwares, application, vendors, and service
Advanced knowledge of computing software and equipment, general knowledge of computing network, database, programming logic, data modelling and processes.
Knowledge of ITIL methodology, Project management, IT governance and budgeting
A degree in technology and qualification in Project Management will be highly regarded
Previous experience of budgeting, financial management, financial reporting
Experience developing the business case and presenting business cases to the executive team
Experience with Python and MYOB Exo shall be highly regarded
Previous experience as IT Manager or Head of IT shall be highly regarding
Ability to provide remote support
