Our client is seeking a strategic and influential

General Manager

to lead their expanding Independent Power Provider (IPP) portfolio across Australia. This is a pivotal senior leadership role driving the acceleration of the energy transition for major commercial and industrial customers, particularly within the mining sector.

You will lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team from bid phase through to commissioning, ensuring innovative solar, BESS, thermal and hybrid power projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification. Working closely with the regional Managing Director and Executive Leadership Team, youโ€™ll shape strategy, drive performance, and take full accountability for the commercial success of the IPP business.

What Youโ€™ll Lead

Development and presentation of compelling business cases and project proposals.

Growth in solar, battery energy storage (BESS), modular thermal, and hybrid power solutions.

Relationships with senior executives, decisionโ€‘makers, and partners across the renewable energy and mining sectors.

Integration between bid, engineering, commercial and project delivery teams to optimise outcomes.

Securing longโ€‘term contracts, project financing, and strategic customer partnerships.

Full commercial oversight including P&L, capex/opex management and operational efficiencies.

Compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory obligations while modelling inclusive leadership.

What Youโ€™ll Bring

Proven leadership experience overseeing complex IPP or large-scale renewable/energy projects.

Successful track record in business development, account growth, and securing major commercial energy deals.

Experience delivering renewable or hybrid power systems in mining or remote/industrial settings.

Ability to operate across diverse geographies, cultures, and highโ€‘level stakeholder networks.

Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management capability at senior and executive levels.

Demonstrated commitment to building team capability and a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.

Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks, permitting requirements and environmental considerations.
