Senior Stress/Design Engineer (Composites)

We are currently seeking an Aerospace / Mechanical / Composites Engineer based at our Altona North facility.

Key responsibilities and duties:

Managing small teams of engineers and technicians on projects to meet schedule, budget and quality targets.

Design and stress analysis of components and structures manufactured from composite materials using finite element and analytical methods.

Documentation and communication of design and analysis methods and results.

Contributing to business development activities including costed proposals and grants.

Supervising and mentoring junior engineers in composites design and analysis methods.

Required qualifications, skills and experience:

A relevant engineering degree and at least 5 years industry experience in stress analysis of composite structures.

Technical expertise in composites design with experience using commercial finite element software (Altair Hyperworks, MSC Nastran, MSC Marc).

Experience in managing projects (budget, resource and quality).

Engineering Registration in Victoria.

Experience with metallic design and composites manufacturing.

Mechanical testing for material characterisation.
