Overview Senior Legal Counsel 7+PQE Front-End Construction

Our client is a Tier 1 contractor and developer powerhouse that handles complex projects internationally. With a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of projects, they are now looking to welcome an experienced lawyer to join their established Legal team as a Senior Legal Counsel.

The Legal Team This role will see you report into the General Counsel while working closely with a high calibre legal and commercial team.

Key responsibilities

Reviewing and advising on the terms of construction contracts at tender stage including D&C, GC21 and ECI agreements.

Providing advice to tender team in relation to risk allocations, delays, EOT’s, termination/suspension, security and retention regimes, scope and pricing.

Post tender negotiations with clients and sub-contractors.

Providing legal advice to stakeholders across construction and corporate.

Reviewing and advising on contracts across corporate - HR and IT.

Coordinate and oversee external legal counsel.

Advise on risk management by identifying legal risks in project development and construction phases.

Assist with regulatory compliance matters, including environmental and planning issues

Providing proactive advice on legal and commercial issues and managing contractual risks to minimise disputes.

Ideal Candidate

For Legal Counsel 7 + years PQE with projects and construction experience.

Strong technical construction law skill set encompassing contract drafting, negotiation, and advisory work.

Current Australian practising certificate.

Proven ability to manage complex, multi-party transactions with a commercial and solutions-focused mindset.

A collaborative and proactive approach, thriving in a lean and high-performing team.
