Engineering Manager About Our Client

Our client is building a new strategic platform across a global, relationship‑oriented business.

The Opportunity We are partnering with our client to appoint an Engineering Manager to lead a global engineering team currently at 12, scaling to 20‑24.

The role requires an individual who can lead, motivate and organise a group of capable engineers while guiding the business through a major strategic shift from legacy systems to a new platform.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Culture

Lead a high‑performing engineering team across multiple time zones.

Drive a culture of accountability, empowerment and growth.

Build capability and ensure the team feels safe to experiment and learn.

Support an ongoing shift from tenure‑based culture to performance‑driven outcomes.

Platform Delivery

Oversee delivery across a new platform whilst maintaining the old platform.

Strategy & Stakeholder Management

Provide strategic leadership without needing low‑level technical depth.

Navigate complex environments that include regulation, compliance and politics.

Influence cross‑functional partners and manage competing priorities.

Your Experience

Inclusive, empowering leadership style with the ability to coach and influence.

Proven experience leading teams of 10+ engineers (or similar scale).

Strength in delivery and people leadership, not low‑level coding.

Comfortable balancing strategic platform uplift with legacy environments.

Understanding of finance or credit is required.

Able to work across diverse teams and time zones.

Technology Environment

Java, React, AWS

Hybrid role - 3 days in office, 2 days from home.
