We’re looking for an experienced Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our Brisbane office and play a key role in our Commercial team. This is an opportunity to work alongside respected leaders, including Cathy Russo and Esteban Gomez, on sophisticated transactions while shaping the future of the practice.

Key Responsibilities In this role, you’ll take ownership of complex matters and provide strategic advice across:

Banking & Finance – acting for non‑bank lenders and overseas banks on traditional loan structures and complex debt/equity arrangements, including multi‑jurisdictional transactions.

Transactional work – leading M&A deals and business sales from negotiation through to completion.

Corporate & Commercial – advising on structuring, governance, and drafting tailored agreements (Constitutions, Shareholder Agreements, Trust Deeds).

You’ll also:

Mentor and develop junior lawyers.

Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.

Collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape practice strategy.

About You

A minimum 6 post‑admission experience in banking & finance and/or general commercial work.

Proven ability to manage complex transactions autonomously.

Strong drafting and negotiation skills.

A genuine interest in business development and growing client relationships.

Leadership qualities and a collaborative mindset.
