About the Role This role focuses on assessing and modernising DevOps practices within mainframe environments. You will work closely with development and platform teams, designing and implementing architectural solutions, improving processes, and supporting automation initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency and developer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Engage with mainframe teams to assess DevOps maturity and identify pain points

Document current and future state architectures and process flowsRecommend and implement modernised tools and processes to improve delivery

Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver iterative, enterprise-aligned solutions

Support automation initiatives including secrets management and internal portals

Mentor staff and transfer knowledge to build internal capabilities

Skills & Experience

Proven experience as an IT or Solution Architect in large enterprise environments

Hands-on experience with z/OS mainframes and mainframe modernisation

Practical knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Ansible)

Strong documentation skills for architecture and process flows

Experience with secrets management, automation, and developer tooling is a plus

Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills

Australian Citizenship & existing Baseline security clearance is a mandatory requirement for this position.
