The Opportunity
We is seeking a high-performing State Sales Lead / Senior Account Manager based in Brisbane to drive sales growth across Queensland while managing and supporting a small sales team.
This is a player–coach role combining personal sales responsibility with first-line leadership of the QLD sales team. The successful candidate will carry their own sales target while providing direction, coaching and performance oversight the QLD-based sales team.
You will be responsible for ensuring local sales activity aligns with and executes the company's national sales and marketing strategies, while supporting team performance and achieving state revenue targets and KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Sales Performance
Grow the QLD market through existing industry relationships and new client acquisition
Manage and expand an existing customer portfolio
Identify and convert new project and specification opportunities
Work closely with builders, major chains and independent resellers
Understand the sales cycle from specification through to installation
Engage effectively with key stakeholders including architects, certifiers, estimators, site managers and senior leadership.
Team Leadership & Performance
Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the QLD-based sales team
Ensure team activity and sales approach aligns with national business strategy
Conduct pipeline reviews and performance check-ins
Undertake joint customer visits and ride-alongs
Provide field-based coaching, advice and training
Identify and address underperformance through structured support and direction
Escalate performance concerns or commercial risks to the National Sales Manager
Report state performance to the National Sales Manager
Strategy Execution
Implement national sales and marketing initiatives within QLD
Direct sales team activity to ensure consistent market approach
Ensure adherence to national pricing frameworks and sales processes
Provide structured market feedback on competitor activity and project pipeline
Leadership Scope
This role:
Leads and directs day-to-day activity of the QLD sales team
Provides coaching, training and performance support
Executes national sales strategy within QLD
Contributes to forecasting through pipeline input
Addresses team performance and actions
About You
You are a proven B2B sales professional within the construction or building products industry, with strong relationships across the QLD residential and medium-density market as well as a proven team leader.
You bring:
Established contacts with Tier 1–3 builders
Experience engaging architects, specifiers and resellers
Strong pipeline and forecasting discipline
The ability to lead, coach and guide sales team
A proactive, results-driven approach to leading a sales team and region
You are technically confident with building products and understand the construction sales process from specification through to installation as well as having strong leadership skills.
