They coordinate and continue to build a state‑wide network of experienced GPs in private practice who have undertaken additional training in treating doctors and students and from which doctors and students can access a GP for their ongoing primary care.
The Medical Director is the public face of the organisation and provides guidance and support to the Business Manager and Program Manager with the aim of delivering an integrated suite of educational and clinical activities. The MD also oversees the provision of safe, high quality, timely clinical care to patients presenting at the clinic, the 24/7 phone service, and the rural outreach programs.
Key outcomes of the role include:
Delivering an integrated program of activities within budget, with a focus on training, education and clinical services across all career stages in the profession.
Ensuring the long-term sustainability of the program by diversifying revenue streams.
Ensuring program activities are relevant and have a measurable impact.
Working in partnership with key stakeholders to leverage and broaden program impact.
Creating a sustainable doctors’ health program through strong leadership to ensure the needs of the medical profession are met.
You will exhibit a strong capacity for innovation, financial acumen, strategic insight, and effective project and program management. Additionally, you will excel at building collaborative relationships, fostering teamwork, and demonstrating advanced oral and written communication skills, including negotiation, fundraising skills and public presentation abilities.
You will also be able to demonstrate a high-level understanding of current clinical best practice, doctors’ health in the context of the Australian health system, relevant governance principles and have extensive general practice clinical experience.
