About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Solicitor to join our in-house Legal Department on a 12 month part-time contract.
This position will provide strategic support to the Head of Legal, ensuring the organisation’s compliance with all relevant legislative, regulatory, legal, and contractual requirements. We are ideally looking for someone with experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, commercial in-house environment within the financial services industry or a financial services lawyer looking for an in-house opportunity.
This is a part time, 2 day per week opportunity located at our Townsville Head Office.
About You
To be eligible to apply for this position you must demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated experience in a similar role within or supporting a financial institution
Experience reviewing and independently advising a financial institution on regulative and legislative changes and legal issues/obligations.
Ability to provide legal advice on complex matters of law to the organisation and liaise with external advisors
A Bachelor of Law (at least 4 years post admission experience) (desirable)
Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (desirable)
A high level of computer literacy, accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
