Your New Role
The purpose of the Risk & Compliance Manager role is to support the Senior Risk & Compliance Manager to deliver a Line 2 Risk Framework that reviews, challenges, and provides independent oversight for operational risks that are relevant to Aware Super and its Financial Advice business.
This is a 15-month max term parental leave cover opportunity
Some responsibilities:
Maintain and deliver the Line 2 assurance program, including thematic reviews and collaboration with auditors to assess and strengthen controls;
Lead Line 2 oversight of the Incident & Breach Management Framework, supporting root-cause analysis, reporting, regulatory submissions and trend insights;
Guide and support business units on compliance obligations, control effectiveness and integration of regulatory requirements into operational processes;
Provide high-quality operational risk reporting and insights for Senior Leaders, Committees, Executives and external stakeholders, including deep-dives and risk trend analysis;
Support business resilience planning by assisting with business impact assessments, continuity plans, testing and identifying gaps across Advice & Legal; and
Provide Line 2 oversight, review and challenge across operational risks.
How do you exceed our expectations?
5+ years' experience in superannuation or financial advice, with a strong Line 2 operational risk background.
Strong understanding of Financial Advice obligations, including Best Interest Duty.
Proven experience analysing and reporting on operational risk data.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to coordinate training and influence business leaders.
Experience supporting an Advice business (highly regarded).
