Business Harnest

Job Description

The Opportunity We’re seeking an experienced

Head of Project Management Office (PMO)

to provide enterprise-wide leadership across Harnest’s project portfolio.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role is pivotal in translating strategy into execution — setting the standards, systems and governance that ensure projects are delivered predictably, compliantly and profitably from

Sales → Contract → ACC → Delivery → Closeout .

This is a senior leadership role with real influence across the business, working alongside Construction, Design, Estimating and Procurement to lift capability, performance and outcomes across a growing national portfolio.

What You’ll Lead

End-to-end PMO governance and delivery frameworks that ensure projects move predictably from Sales to ACC to completion

Portfolio-level insight and control across cost, margin, risk, forecasting and performance, providing confidence to executive leadership

Commercial discipline and margin protection, embedding strong contract administration, forecasting accuracy and early risk management

A high-performing PMO function, building capability, accountability and scalable ways of working across Project Managers and Contract Administrators

Quality, compliance and stakeholder confidence, strengthening government and regulator relationships while upholding SDA, NCC and Liveable Housing standards

About You You’re a senior project or program leader who thrives at the intersection of

strategy, governance and delivery . You bring structure, clarity and calm to complex environments and are comfortable holding teams to high standards.

You’ll likely bring:

10+ years’ experience in senior project leadership, PMO or program delivery roles

Strong exposure to residential, social/affordable housing, SDA or commercial project environments

Proven experience establishing or maturing a PMO function

Deep capability in project governance, contract administration, cost control and forecasting

Confidence engaging with government, regulators and funding partners

A leadership style grounded in accountability, collaboration and coaching

A genuine alignment to purpose-driven work and social impact

Formal qualifications in Project Management, Construction, Engineering or similar are required, with PMO or project certifications highly regarded.

Why Join Harnest

Join a values-led construction group, backed by the Mazzei Group, with the stability and scale to support complex, long-term delivery

Work within a business delivering $100m+ in annual turnover and a strong forward pipeline of $150m+

Lead meaningful, purpose-driven projects across social housing, SDA and medium-density that deliver real community outcomes

Be part of a fully integrated, end-to-end business spanning advisory, design and construction — enabling greater control, collaboration and quality outcomes

Step into a role where you’re trusted to set standards, influence delivery models and shape how projects are delivered, not just manage them

Work alongside experienced, grounded and approachable leaders who are actively involved in projects and genuinely invested in their people

Diversity & Inclusion Harnest is committed to building a

diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace . We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disability, and those who may face barriers to employment.
