The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Compliance leads child safety, regulatory compliance and risk across all AMIGA centres.
Own and oversee compliance, investigations and risk organisation-wide
Manage DET, CCYP and serious incident processes end-to-end
Conduct formal investigations and interviews, and prepare high-quality reports
Analyse risk and compliance data to identify trends and drive preventative action
Develop and improve policies, procedures and compliance frameworks
Provide expert advice to Centre Managers and senior leaders
Lead root cause analysis and targeted compliance training
Chair and contribute to compliance and child safety committees
This role suits a confident, hands‑on leader who can balance investigative rigour with empathy and authority.
About You
You are an experienced compliance professional who can navigate complex, sensitive matters with professionalism and care.
You bring:
Proven experience running formal investigations and interviews
Strong documentation and report writing skills for regulators
Experience interpreting and applying legislation and regulatory frameworks
Excellent stakeholder management, including with staff and families
High attention to detail and legally sound documentation
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to work autonomously and influence senior stakeholders
Your Background
We welcome candidates from either:
Early Childhood / Regulatory
Experience in ECEC leadership, compliance or regulatory bodies (e.g. DET, CCYP, VECRA, QARD)
Strong knowledge of the NQF, National Law and Regulations
Broader Risk / Compliance
Experience in legal, HR/ER, workplace investigations, child protection, NDIS, healthcare or corporate risk
Strong understanding of statutory reporting and governance frameworks
Qualifications
Degree in Early Childhood, Law, HR, Risk or related field
Postgraduate or specialist training in compliance, investigations or risk (highly regarded)
Legal qualifications (LLB/JD) highly regarded
