General Manager, Finance

to lead our Finance and Accounting function and play a pivotal role in shaping our future. As a key member of the Leadership Team, you will partner closely with the CEO and senior leaders to drive performance, provide strategic financial insights, and strengthen our commercial capability across Australia and New Zealand.

About the Role

This is a strategic leadership role with full accountability for financial planning, compliance, governance, and operational performance. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities while driving financial discipline and efficiency across the business. As our finance lead, you will also manage relationships with MG’s parent company and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the Finance and Accounting team to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful reporting

Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO and Executive Team, contributing to company-wide strategy

Manage all compliance and regulatory obligations, including audits and tax

Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes aligned with corporate goals

Identify and drive process and technology improvements that enhance profitability

Deliver clear, data-driven financial advice to support decision-making across Sales, Marketing, Product and other key business functions.

Communicate financial performance and risk insights to internal and external stakeholders.

What You Bring

CA or CPA qualification with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline

Minimum 8 years’ senior finance leadership experience in the

automotive industry

or a closely related sector

Proven track record in financial control, planning, and business partnering at an executive level

Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills

Experience leading high-performing teams in dynamic, growth-oriented environments

Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and financial reporting tools

This role would suit an experienced Financial Controller ready to step up into a more strategic role, or an established Finance Director looking to take on a broader strategic remit in a high-growth, high-impact environment.
