Are you a junior lawyer or early‑career legal professional with an interest in construction, infrastructure, and commercial law? We are seeking a motivated
Junior Lawyer
to join our team and support our
in‑house General Counsel
across a broad range of legal and commercial matters.
This role offers hands‑on exposure to live projects, stakeholder engagement, and real‑world commercial decision‑making within a high‑performing, collaborative team. It is well suited to a graduate lawyer or lawyer with up to 2–3 years’ experience looking to build a strong foundation in in‑house practice.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the General Counsel, Legal, Commercial, and Project teams, your responsibilities will include:
Reviewing, drafting, and amending a range of commercial contracts, including client agreements, supplier and subcontractor contracts, variations, and rate increase correspondence.
Supporting RFQs, tenders, and subcontractor engagement from a legal and commercial perspective.
Assisting with contract interpretation, risk identification, and compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
Maintaining legal, contract, and commercial registers and records.
Supporting project teams with variation management, commercial correspondence, and dispute prevention.
Providing legal and secretariat support to the General Counsel, including preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, reports, and correspondence.
Assisting with internal governance, policies, and compliance requirements.
This is a practical, development-focused role with exposure across the full lifecycle of projects.

About You
You will ideally bring:
A law degree and admission (or eligibility for admission) as a lawyer in Australia.
Up to 2–3 years’ experience in commercial, construction, or corporate law (in‑house or private practice), or a strong graduate foundation.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working with internal stakeholders.
A proactive, adaptable mindset and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with contract or project management systems is advantageous.
Highly Regarded
Experience or exposure to construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
Interest in developing a long‑term in‑house legal career within a commercial, project‑driven environment.
An understanding of risk management and commercial decision‑making.
