Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join our Civil division. Excellent opportunity for a driven professional looking to contribute to major infrastructure and resources projects with a respected industry leader.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager Estimating Civil, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Participating in tender strategy
Managing the tender process, including preparing all priced and non-priced requirements of the tender request
Preparing and delivering presentations for internal tender approval processes
Preparing estimates in Expert Estimation software that are in line with latest market pricing and in sufficient detail
Communicate and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors, this will include sending out formal pricing requests through to collating proposals received
Developing and maintaining good working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and other key stakeholders
Communicate and liaise with Client representatives
Assist in monitoring cost expenditure and supporting the Project Manager, Project Director and Engineering team in cost control (when requested)
You will be responsible for post tender tasks, such as assisting the Project Manager with supplier and subcontractor agreements once projects have been awarded.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role it is essential to have the following skills and experience:
Tertiary Degree Civil Engineering or equivalent
Relevant experience as a ‘first-principles’ Civil Estimator or similar position in the Civil sector with resource and infrastructure experience
Experience in preparing and submitting tenders for large scale projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels
Strong attention to detail
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Expert Estimation (or other estimating software)
