Job Description

Overview KAMS is seeking experienced General Practitioners for the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The roles are salaried, community‑led, and support the ACCHO Model of Care to deliver continuity, cultural safety, and high‑quality primary health services.

Roles & Locations

Senior GP – Kutjungka Region (Balgo, Mulan & Billiluna)

– 4 weeks on‑site, 8 weeks telehealth support.

GP – Bidyadanga

– coastal community, long‑term relationship‑based practice.

GP – Kutjungka (FIFO)

– 4 weeks on / 8 weeks off, clinical focus with moderate governance duties.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive primary care in accordance with best‑practice standards.

Manage acute presentations, stabilise emergencies, and deliver chronic disease care.

Work collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Remote Area Nurses and the Senior Medical Officer.

Contribute to audit processes, incident management and governance oversight.

Maintain continuity of care through consistent follow‑up and relationship‑based practice.

Qualifications & Experience

Current or eligible medical registration in Western Australia.

Established experience in rural or remote general practice; roles with high isolation acceptable.

Background working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services preferred.

Commitment to audit, recalls, governance and multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to adapt to remote settings and manage emergency exposure.

Remuneration & Benefits

Senior GP – ~$317 k base + 25 % availability allowance, $300/day on‑call, medical indemnity, accommodation & flights.

GP – Bidyadanga – ~$308 k base, accommodation (if resident), relocation assistance, study leave, medical indemnity.

GP – Kutjungka (FIFO) – ~$308 k pro‑rata, 25 % availability, modern accommodation, flights, medical indemnity.

All roles: salary packaging up to $30 k, bulk‑billing, professional development, cultural safety commitment, long‑term workforce sustainability.
