Your New Role
This is a technical leadership role with enterprise-wide impact. As the Principal Primary Systems Engineer, you will drive the enhancement of engineering capability and excellence organisation-wide. As a subject matter expert, key aspects of your role will include:
Developing and implementing strategies for the improvement of electrical assets across the organisation.
Acting as an 'internal' consultant to fill technical gaps and offer expertise for specific engineering challenges across electrical assets.
Involvement in infrastructure rebuilds, including options analysis and preparing needs cases for asset replacement.
Reviewing and potentially updating technical standards in response to feedback from technical teams regarding site and project challenges.
Mentoring engineers and technical specialists across the organisation, increasing overall engineering capability and collaboration across teams.
The role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, based out of their Melbourne head office, with a hybrid work model provided.
Your Skillset
Bachelorโs degree in electrical engineering; as well as a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent highly regarded
Subject matter expertise in primary systems ideally across transmission and distribution infrastructure, whether across design, operations & maintenance, asset management, projects, or a combination of these
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across both operational and leadership levels
Demonstrated ability to balance technical expertise with broader business, commercial and strategic considerations.
