The Opportunity: FinanceLeader We are looking for an ambitious, high-potential FinanceLeader based in Melbourne, Australia. This role requires deep familiarity with the Australian regulatory, tax, and financial landscape.

You will lead the finance function from Day 1, combining hands‑on operational ownership with high-level strategic guidance. As the business grows, this role will also evolve as we penetrate and scale within the Australian market.

The ideal candidate is CPA‑certified, fast‑rising in their career, and comfortable building, influencing, and operating with autonomy.

What You Will Own Financial Leadership and Operations

Lead all financial operations, including month‑end close, reconciliations, and statutory reporting

Ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and financial discipline

Support audit engagements and prepare the business for potential IFRS alignment

Build scalable financial processes, policies, and reporting frameworks

Streamline cash flow process within the entity, group and organization

Strategic Finance and Business Partnering

Convert financial insights into strategic recommendations for the CEO and leadership team

Guide decisions on pricing, budgeting, investment, cash flow, and operational performance

Own financial modelling for growth, scenario planning, and strategic initiatives

Track KPIs, identify risks and opportunities, and drive continuous improvement

FP&A and Reporting

Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting

Deliver monthly executive‑level financial packages with insights and performance narratives

Enhance dashboards and visibility across financial and operational metrics

Growth, M&A and Portfolio Expansion

Support the shift from founder‑led operations to a scalable, professional finance function

Play a key role in future acquisitions, diligence, integration, and portfolio development in Australia

Grow into a future Portfolio Manager role for the Australian region

Who You Are Qualifications (Must‑Haves)

CPA designation

Proven experience overseeing BAS preparation and lodgement

Hands‑on ownership of payroll administration, including payroll tax calculations and reporting

Strong working knowledge of Australian superannuation obligations, including administration, compliance, and awareness of upcoming government or legislative changes

Experience providing real‑time budget tracking and cash flow visibility to senior leadership (CEO‑level reporting)

Demonstrated experience with annual financial and regulatory reporting to ATO and ACFA, or equivalent regulators, within a financial services or regulated environment

Solid understanding of Australian tax, compliance, and statutory reporting requirements

Comfortable operating as the sole or lead finance owner in a lean, high‑accountability environment

Nice‑to‑Haves

Background in high‑growth, VC or PE‑backed, or founder‑led businesses

Experience with M&A, due diligence, or integration

Experience building or scaling finance teams and systems

Exposure to payroll, financial compliance, or regulated markets
