Job Description
Energybuild is recognised as Australia’s #1 solar installer with an output of more than 15,000 solar system installs per year. We are unique in that our customer base is exclusively B2B, where we service Australia’s leading homebuilders. Our growth has been built not only on field execution excellence, but on our ability to operate at national scale across high-volume, scheduling, delivery coordination and installation.
As the business continues to scale at pace, we are elevating our focus on operational discipline, automation and performance systems that continue to ensure predictable, high-quality outcomes for our customers.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO and Founder, the COO will act as the day-to-day operational leader of the business, with a clear mandate to:
Design and run a high-volume operating system that delivers consistent outcomes at scale
Optimise end-to-end process flow across scheduling, administration, delivery coordination and quality
Drive automation, workflow optimisation and system integration to reduce manual hand-offs
Embed Lean / Six Sigma / continuous improvement disciplines across the organisation
Build KPI architecture and performance cadence that drives accountability and decision‑making
Shift the business from reliance on individual heroics to repeatable, system‑led execution
This role is about throughput, cycle time, quality, cost-to-serve and scalability — from administration through to site execution.
Who This Role Is For
You are a true operations specialist who has already built or run a high-volume operating engine.
Your background may come from:
Supply-and-install businesses operating at scale
Insurance
Banking or financial services operations
Telco, utilities or logistics environments
Any industry where performance is driven by process discipline, automation and data
You are likely trained or deeply experienced in Lean, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence or process engineering, and you think in systems, not silos.
What We’re Looking For
Executive operations leadership experience in high-volume, repeatable environments.
Demonstrated success designing and scaling automated back‑office and delivery workflows
Strong command of performance metrics, dashboards and operating cadence
Experience driving continuous improvement across complex organisations
Commercial mindset with accountability for cost, productivity and output
Comfortable partnering directly with a Founder and leading enterprise‑wide growth
Experience in construction or solar is not required but would be highly advantageous.
Why Energybuild
A genuine COO mandate with ability to influence the operating model
Founder‑led business with speed, clarity and appetite for change
National scale with significant opportunity to industrialise and optimise
Rare opportunity to help build the machine, not inherit one
Apply
If you are an operations leader who gets energy from building disciplined, scalable operating systems, and want to apply that capability to a national supply‑and‑install business, we’d love to hear from you.
