Vice President of Product Engineering (Remote) Salary: $200/hr ($400,000/year) – Full‑time, 40 hours per week, 50 weeks per year.

About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken; 2 Hour Learning reimagines schooling with AI and learning science to help students master academics in just two hours a day.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as CTO of one or more education products, owning core competencies.

Build and maintain deep education product expertise to inform strategic decisions.

Create technical specifications that embody critical decisions and prioritize simplicity, efficiency, and sustainability.

Deploy generative AI technologies to automate and optimize engineering processes.

Own architecture, technical strategy, and AI integration across the learning system.

Make critical technical tradeoffs that keep products lean, scalable, and focused on student outcomes.

Negotiate and drive critical technical decisions for software projects, including architecture patterns and open‑source technologies.

Lead cloud architecture decisions, primarily on AWS.

Build product features that use generative AI for advanced learning and for internal process efficiencies.

What You Won’t Be Doing

Pure people management.

Administrative overhead or meeting committees.

High‑level strategy without implementation guidance.

Basic Requirements

7+ years of experience making critical architecture and design decisions on software projects.

2+ years of experience with cloud computing services (primarily AWS).

4+ years in roles with full technical and delivery ownership on revenue‑generating products.

Deep experience or interest in data‑driven learning science.

Experience building product features that make advanced use of generative AI.

Experience using generative AI to simplify work processes.

Working With Us This is a full‑time, long‑term position available immediately. You will enter an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. Compensation is $200 USD per hour.
