Senior Cyber Security Specialist

to work on an initial 6 month contract, based in

Adelaide, South Australia .

This is NOT a remote role, so please only apply if you are willing to live and work full time in Adelaide and hold the necessary full work visa.

Due to the nature of the role, which is working in Government, you may be required to undergo a baseline or NV1 clearance post commencement.

As a Senior Cyber Security Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and integrity of a large and complex environment and will be involved in key Cyber Security projects as well as day to day security operational matters. Key outcomes of the role Security Operations

– Oversee daily Cyber security operations, including security incident and event monitoring, incident response and threat management to maintain a secure environment. Vulnerability Management

– Coordinate vulnerability assessments and patch management processes to address security gaps and enhance system resilience. Security Governance

– Will be involved in Governance reviews of ICT changes managed internally or by Government’s contracted service providers or established panels. Architecture Reviews and Security Advisory

– Conduct comprehensive security architecture reviews to identify and mitigate risks in system designs and provide appropriate security advice as part of ICT projects.

Essential skills and experience Extensive (5 to 10+ years) experience

in Security Operations or advisory roles particularly in infrastructure, cloud environments. Experience working with network security devices including firewalls, WAFs and other threat prevention appliances. Experienced in logging and monitoring with ability to support respective teams in fine tuning alerts in a SIEM solution. Proven track record in conducting/facilitating vulnerability assessment, patch management and coordinating remediation with business owners. Involved in security architecture reviews of infrastructure and cloud solutions catering to large user base. Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
