What’s the role?
You’ll join Westpac’s Corporate & Institutional Banking team as a Director within our Energy, Infrastructure & Resources team. Ideally based in
Brisbane , in a full-time role, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of 20 national and multinational clients across mining, resources and energy sectors.
With deep sector expertise, you’ll bring valued market leadership and a point of view in shaping sector strategy, create leverage through people and partnerships and balance commitments to growth, risk, reputation and regulation.
What do I need?
We’re keen to consider candidates who bring a hybrid skill set—blending practical engineering or consulting experience with deep industry knowledge and financial expertise.
Additionally,
You’ll have practical experience across the Australian mining, resources and energy sectors including awareness of sustainability and climate‑related considerations impacting the industry.
You’ll bring deep experience (at least 7 years) working in corporate or institutional banking, with a solid understanding of corporate lending structures, loan documentation and the products commonly used by large corporate clients.
Capability in credit assessment and risk management, including cash flow modelling, applying a sound risk mindset and contributing to policy or framework development.
A proven commitment to uplifting client sector expertise and capability within the team accelerating the continued success of strong client advocacy within the portfolio.
A collaborative and deep sense of ‘owning it’ with a commitment to continuous improvement, balance sheet and equity growth whilst tempered with the right risk appetite.
