Head of Safety, Health & Wellbeing

We’re looking for a visionary Head of Safety, Health & Wellbeing to set the strategic direction for our safety-first culture, ensuring every child, family and team member thrives physically, psychologically and culturally.
In this role, you’ll shape organisational safety standards that go beyond compliance, instilling confidence at every level. You will:
Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) legislation and childcare sector regulations.
Design and embed a Safety, Health & Wellbeing strategy in collaboration with Operations leaders.
Lead proactive risk management practices, monitor compliance performance, and drive continuous safety improvement.
Oversee incident management, investigations, corrective actions and workers compensation claims.
Champion wellbeing programs that strengthen workforce resilience, engagement and retention.
Provide training, tools and resources for leaders to foster psychological safety, risk awareness and confident incident response.
Partner with regulators, insurers, families and community bodies to uphold the highest safety standards in the sector.
Your leadership will ensure our centres remain safe, trusted environments while empowering our people to actively contribute to the wellbeing of their communities.
What You’ll Bring
8+ years’ leadership in multi-site, regulated environments (childcare, education, health, aged care preferred).
Proven expertise in WHS, (NQF compliance desirable), incident management and wellbeing strategy delivery.
Strong ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels.
Data-driven mindset with capability to monitor and improve safety performance metrics.
Role modelling of values-based leadership, integrity and confidentiality.
Degree or Diploma in WHS, Risk or related field (postgraduate qualifications desirable).
Working With Children Check / Blue Card (required).
