Emergency Department (Senior Medical Officer)
The purpose of this position is to provide and support the effective and efficient delivery of emergency medical services for CGH as a clinical leader and teacher within the Emergency Department, consistent with approved scope of practice and CGH emergency services capability.

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub‑regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire, located in the City of Sale. CGH provides acute care and a range of community‑based services across three campuses.
About the Department
The Emergency Department includes 2 resus bays, 5 cubicles and 2 treatment rooms and is supported by Junior and Senior Medical Officers, FACEM, and nursing staff.
About the Role
As a senior medical officer you will lead, teach and manage emergency medical services, ensuring high quality care and efficient operations.
Duties
Support senior management in prioritising patient need and operating efficiently to meet community needs.
Escalate operational issues that impact service provision and patient care to the Hospital Coordinator or Executive team.
Provide learning opportunities for junior medical staff and undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines.
Undertake performance appraisals at regular intervals as deemed fit by the Department Head.
Undertake appropriate credentialing for invasive and non‑invasive procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
MBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
General Registration with AHPRA or eligibility for provisional or limited registration.
ACEM Non‑Accredited Trainees.
Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience.
Significant experience providing emergency medicine, including support and training of junior medical and clinical staff and undergraduate students.
