We are seeking an experienced and values‑driven Chief Financial Officer to join our Executive Team and provide strategic financial leadership during a significant phase of organisational growth and governance strengthening.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join the dynamic team at Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation. As the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in leading the financial strategy and operations of our organisation. This is a full‑time, permanent position based in our East Perth, WA office. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, ensuring robust financial controls and reporting are in place to support the continued growth and success of the organisation.
What you'll be doing
Provide strategic financial leadership and oversight, partnering with the executive team to drive financial performance and achieve the organisation's goals
Manage the full spectrum of financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and legislative requirements
Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations
Liaise with external stakeholders, such as auditors, regulators, and funding bodies, to maintain strong relationships and ensure transparency
Provide expert financial advice and guidance to support strategic decision‑making across the organisation
What we're looking for
Qualified accountant (CPA or CA) with at least 2+ years of experience as a CFO, preferably within the not‑for‑profit or community services sector
Demonstrated track record of successfully leading finance teams and driving organisational financial performance
Excellent financial management and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate it effectively to stakeholders
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support strategic planning and decision‑making
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify and mitigate financial risks
Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high‑performing teams
Commitment to continuous improvement and a track record of implementing innovative financial solutions
Understanding of the not‑for‑profit or community services sector, and the ability to navigate the unique challenges and reporting requirements
