Arc Infrastructure manages and develops transport infrastructure assets that support growth and create jobs in WA. The Opportunity
Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting in-house opportunity for a senior legal professional to join the team as our Head of Legal & Regulatory.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager Commercial and Regulatory, this role oversees legal strategy, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and the management of the Access Regime under the Railways (Access) Code 2000.
Some of the key duties and responsibilities are:
Manage the Access Regime for Arc, including where access seekers are seeking access via the Railways (Access) Code 2000
Provide leadership, direction and advice to the legal function and regulatory function including management of people, monitoring performance and ensuring team members receive the training, development and support required to effectively perform their duties
Develop and execute legal and regulatory strategies over a 3-5 year timeframe
Provide strategic legal advice across all business functions on business‑critical matters
Prepare and manage department budgets over a 5-year horizon
Regular reporting on status of claims, and activities against plan, as well as performance against KPI's
Lead the management of disputes, litigation and arbitration proceedings including by managing and engaging external counsel as required
Ensure that all business activities and employees within the position’s area of control comply with all legislative/statutory obligations, company policies, standards and procedures
About You
To be successful in this role you have:
Legal Degree and entitlement to practice law in Western Australia
Minimum 10years' experience in a senior legal role, either in‑house or at a reputable firm
Strong background in commercial law with litigation or arbitration experience preferred
Excellent negotiation, drafting and communication skills
Demonstrated practical and strategic commercial judgement
