About the position This position reports to the Senior Technical Officer and forms part of a collaborative technical team. The role supports the day‑to‑day operations of the simulation dental laboratories, ensuring that all resources, materials, and equipment are safe, functional, and readily available.

Routine tasks include:

Operate, maintain and troubleshoot dental equipment, dental chairs and simulation manikins

Provide safe and clean dental teaching facilities

Set-up and pack-down of classes

Maintain the day-to-day running of the sterilization room

Produce dental models and prepare simulation teeth for practical classes

Manage consumables

Skills and Experience To be considered for this position, you will have;

Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an advanced diploma qualification and at least one year’s subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of a diploma qualification and at least two years’ subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of a Certificate IV and extensive relevant work experience; or completion of a post-trades certificate and extensive (typically more than two years’) relevant experience as a technician; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

A dental assistant, dental oral health therapist, dental technician or dental practice manager qualification

is essential

A sound understanding and practical experience of infection prevention and control (according to the Australian Dental Association Guidelines and Standards) in a dental setting

Demonstrated ability to gain a conceptual understanding of relevant policies, procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent.
