Job Description

Associate Principal Electrical Engineer – Arup Arup, a global engineering and design firm, is seeking an Associate Principal Electrical Engineer to lead high‑profile data‑centre projects across the Asia‑Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities

Lead high‑profile data‑centre projects, managing the design and execution of advanced electrical systems while ensuring alignment with client expectations and industry best practices.

Strategically develop and implement innovative solutions, leveraging cutting‑edge technologies to address the unique needs of data centres, ensuring optimal performance in power distribution, lighting, and communication systems.

Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem‑solving across multidisciplinary teams.

Represent Arup in client‑facing engagements, offering expert advice and insights that contribute to both project success and long‑term relationships.

Drive the growth and development of Arup’s electrical engineering practice, contributing to business development, project acquisition, and shaping the strategic direction of the firm in the data centre space.

Assume primary responsibility for the overall quality and execution of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to rigorous standards and delivering on time and within budget.

Qualifications

Recognised tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Extensive experience in Electrical Engineering within a consulting environment, with a proven track record of leadership in large‑scale, complex projects; a background in health, energy and/or data centres is advantageous.

Strong technical expertise in the design, development, and delivery of complex electrical systems.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and contribute to the strategic direction of a business.

Expertise in industry‑standard software and design tools relevant to Electrical Engineering.
