This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of medical education and research at one of Australiaโ€™s most innovative universities, leading the prestigious Doctor of Medicine (MD) program and driving excellence across clinical sciences. About You

As Dean of Medicine, you will provide strategic academic leadership in teaching, research and community engagement within the Discipline of Clinical Sciences. Serving as both the Academic Leader of the MD Program and lead for the clinical discipline, you will be instrumental in strengthening and evolving medical education across South Australia and the Northern Territory. Key responsibilities include leading the planning, implementation, and continuous development of the MD Program aligned with the Australian Medical Council (AMC) accreditation standards. The Dean will have oversight of the education delivery using contemporary pedagogy across multiple campuses and locations, and champion research excellence while actively supporting Early and Mid-Career Researchers. You will serve as the University's principal representative to the medical profession and healthcare sector, fostering relationships with Local Health Networks, the Australian Medical Council, and industry partners. The role includes mentoring future leaders and junior academic colleagues in Clinical Sciences and shaping and implementing the College's strategic vision as a member of the College executive, supported as part of a team of Deans. The successful candidate will possess a PhD or equivalent qualification, plus specialist medical qualification with AHPRA registration (or eligibility), along with a distinguished track record of teaching excellence in medical education at tertiary level, including leadership roles. You will bring significant experience in curriculum development, teaching methodology, and accreditation activities, as well as an outstanding record of developing strategic alliances and partnerships delivering successful educational and research outcomes.
