Job Description
This is a 6 month fixed term, part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing February 2026 with possible extension (6 months)
The Operational Initiatives branch is responsible for the management and implementation of strategic education programs that support schools and student outcomes. Typically, these programs involve partnership and liaison with the non-government school sectors, corporate and not-for-profit organisations in Western Australia. A key responsibility of the branch is to assist public schools in implementing these programs.
The Operational Initiatives branch provides leadership and supports regions in their implementation of key initiatives. Suitable applicants will ideally be excellent problem-solvers, have an eye for detail, and experience at producing high-level written communications.
Role
In this role you will provide practical, accurate and timely verbal and written advice, resources, information and support to education regions and the Director General in relation to exclusion processes and other initiatives managed by the branch.

Eligibility

be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Educationโs Screening Unit before you start.

Demonstrated highly developed written communication and presentation skills, including experience in the preparation of complex reports, briefing notes and professional learning documentation.
