is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training. In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees. Job Description

As a Psychiatrist within the team providing these services to the Immigration Detention network, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in a diverse and complex healthcare environment, supported by a strong multidisciplinary team and robust clinical governance framework. This permanent

part-time (0.7 FTE) telehealth role

offers the opportunity to provide psychiatric services across multiple detention sites, primarily in

WA and SA , supported by our multidisciplinary Virtual Care Centre team. You can be

based anywhere in Australia , with the flexibility to work

to the operating hours of the state you’re supporting

on any given day. Flexible arrangements or a

shared coverage model between two psychiatrists

will be considered for the right candidates. In this role, you’ll: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulate treatment plans via telehealth. Diagnose and manage a range of mental health conditions using evidence-based approaches. Provide clinical advice and support to on-site and virtual health teams and participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and care planning. Deliver culturally competent and trauma-informed care for a diverse detainee population. Contribute to education, quality improvement, and service development initiatives. Let’s talk about you!
