Your new role
As the Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients, providing comprehensive taxation, compliance and advisory services. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs
Overseeing BAS/IAS, payroll, superannuation and FBT compliance
Leading annual tax planning and cashflow/budget forecasting
Advising business clients on structuring, business plans, appraisals, finance applications and valuations
Managing ATO audits, reviews, GST audits and tax investigations
Supporting SMSF clients through setup, year-end compliance, audit preparation and ongoing management
Supervising, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members
Contributing to business improvement initiatives and supporting internal systems development
Ensuring all work is delivered to high quality, within set timeframes and budgets
This is a senior role suited to someone who enjoys both technical tax work and building strong, trusted client relationships.
What you\'ll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will bring:
A Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
CA or CPA qualification
7+ years\' experience in business services and taxation in Australia
Strong technical proficiency across tax compliance, business advisory and SMSF work
Advanced computer skills and comfort with accounting software
Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle client queries professionally
Strong organisational capability with the ability to prioritise, manage deadlines and work independently
Leadership qualities including the ability to supervise, train and mentor others
High attention to detail, strong problem‑solving skills and a commitment to quality
