IDAM Solution Architect with experience and knowledge of design, development and integration of enterprise level IDAM solutions to join us on a long-term customer project.
The role has been created to support the modernisation of the technology landscape and improve the security and user experience in relation to Identity and Access Management. As the Solution Architect you will undertake discovery to map the current state and lead the development of a new enterprise-wide Identity and Access Management uplift plan, including high level Architectural solution design.

Key duties & responsibilities
Conduct an activity to identify, define and document the context and objectives for Identity and Access Management within the organisation
Engage with relevant stakeholder and SMEs to build and document a complete understanding of the current IDAM governance, process, people and technology landscape, including; Identify existing IDAM architecture, documented patterns and solutions. Identify existing IDAM capabilities, tools and systems. Assess IDAM maturity across key domains. Document current processes, gaps and pain points. Support the conduct of security assessments against relevant components. Identify relevant work currently underway across the organisation.
Engage with stakeholders and SMEs to define and document the current IDAM target state, including; Capture key IDAM capabilities and patterns for integration into the target state. Documentation of the IDAM target state architecture and capability model. Organisational goals and strategy that will be supported by IDAM capabilities. Desired end-user IDAM experience.
Conduct a gap analysis to identify gaps between current and future states.
Develop IDAM uplift program of work / implementation plan, including; Define key workstreams to deliver target state architecture. Identify relevant inflight projects as candidates to deliver workstreams. Assess deployment risk and cost.
Demonstrated competencies
Demonstrate a good architectural understanding of modern :
Identity and Access Management capabilities and technologies;
Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID;
Passwordless, Multifactor Authentication, Self-service password reset and Single Sign On technologies;
Conditional access and device management technologies;
Identity governance, management and process auditing;
Modern and legacy authentication methods and capabilities;
device and security; and
Zero Trust philosophy as it applies to Identity and Access Management.
Proven ability to :
Understand and translate legacy and contemporary security, connectivity protocols and best practices and develop strategic and detailed design documentation;
Ability to understand complex technology interdependencies and create practical uplift roadmaps;
Engage with multiple diverse stakeholders to understand current architecture and systems; and
Provide strategy and guidance on security uplift trends, case studies and contemporary technologies in mission-critical environments.
Experience in contributing to and leading technology outcomes for government programs with a focus on security and architecture deliverables
Proven experience in :
Documenting current state technology stack to inform future state landscape
Developing product and technology roadmaps
Translating business and solution requirements into high quality architecture artefacts
Modelling solution architectures using Sparx EA or MS Visio
Highly experienced in understanding, documenting, delivering and receiving endorsement for technology roadmaps, Solution Options and Solution Architecture documents, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
