Principal Mining Consultant

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the purpose of this position is to provide technical and engineering solutions along with business improvement outcomes for our clients and stakeholders. This is a collaborative and supportive role requiring the use of technical mining best practice to deliver value for our new and existing customers. The role is based at our office in Perth CBD, however ad hoc Australian and international travel is required.

Responsibilities

Act in the best interests of Orelogy, working within legislation that underpins the company’s operation and ensuring decisions are based on the achievement of Orelogy’s objectives.

Ensure conduct consistent with Orelogy’s values, policies, systems, procedures and statutory requirements.

Ensure a safe working environment, being a visible leader for safety and providing a daily commitment to zero harm to employees, contractors, environment and the community.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to Orelogy’s clients and client representatives, employees, management and supplier contacts.

Coach and mentor team members and support the development of career pathways for our people.

Participate in growth initiatives to support wider business objectives.

Identify, recommend, and execute business improvement opportunities in line with industry best practice.

Ensure all works under area of control are completed to a standard that is fit for purpose and meets the end users’ requirements.

Advise on Pit and/or underground mine design, scheduling, reserve estimations, cost modelling and operational effectiveness.

Provide study management, scope budget and schedule control.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent).

First Class Mine Managers (FCMM) Certificate of Competency will be highly regarded.

10 years in-depth Technical and Operational experience across different mining methods.

Minimum of 5 years supervising teams.

Technical report writing skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

High level of computer literacy, with advanced capabilities in specialist mining software such as Vulcan, Deswik, MineSight, Surpac or similar.
