Our Opportunity Work Location: Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

Roster: 8D/6R/7N/7R - FIFO ex Perth Tuesday/Tuesday (B-Crew)

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Water Well Drilling Supervisor to join our team at Cloudbreak. This is a key leadership role responsible for supervising water well drilling operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and industry standards. As a leader in the field, you will guide and support a team of drillers, coordinate equipment and resources, and maintain high standards of quality and compliance across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of drillers to deliver safe, efficient, and effective water well drilling operations

Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of drilling projects from commencement to completion

Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements

Maintain drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance and coordinate scheduled maintenance

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to meet project deadlines and operational targets

Provide on-the-job training, mentorship, and constructive performance feedback

Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement practical solutions

Maintain accurate records of drilling progress, safety checks, and equipment usage

Monitor and manage project costs to support budget adherence

Qualifications and Experience

Demonstrated experience in water well drilling, including experience in a supervisory or leadership role

Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, tools, and operational techniques

Sound understanding of regulatory requirements, health & safety standards, and environmental guidelines

Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and support diverse team members

The ability to work effectively in remote and challenging environments with a strong safety focus

Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, communication, and organisational skills

Certificate IV in Drilling Operations

Class 1 Water Well Permit (Class 2 preferred)

Completed legislation examination for statutory supervisors
