We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to provide assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental illness and dementia in frail elderly patients across a range of settings including clinics, patients’ homes, residential aged‑care facilities, and a sub‑acute inpatient unit. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, participate in an on‑call roster, and comply with the Mental Health Act 2013 and the Guardianship and Administration Act 1995.

Responsibilities

Assess and diagnose mental illness and dementia in older adults across diverse care settings.

Develop and implement treatment plans, including pharmacological and psychosocial interventions.

Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and case managers to coordinate care.

Attend outpatient clinics and provide specialist input for sub‑acute inpatient services.

Participate in an on‑call roster for the sub‑acute inpatient unit.

Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements under the Mental Health Act 2013 and the Guardianship and Administration Act 1995.
