What You'll Be Doing
Provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist Radiation Oncology services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care.
Provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Where you'll be working
The Northern NSW Local Health District covers a large area in north‑eastern NSW extending from Tweed Heads in the north to Tabulam and Urbenville in the west and to Nymboida and Grafton in the South. NNSWLHD provides a diverse range of public healthcare through 12 hospitals and multi‑purpose services, 21 community health centres and other facilities.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Tweed Valley Hospital, your primary work location and a new, major referral hospital at the heart of the network of hospitals and health facilities across the Tweed‑Byron region also including Murwillumbah District and Byron Central Hospitals. Tweed Valley Hospital opened on 14 May 2024. The new facility includes:
more operating theatres and recovery spaces
expanded emergency department
enhanced medical, surgical and mental health services
enhanced ambulatory care services including more outpatients clinics
new interventional cardiology service
new radiotherapy service as part of a new integrated cancer care service.

Eligibility and Qualifications
Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Radiation Oncologist and/or overseas trained specialist pathway and NSW EPA Radiation Licenses: License S3 Use radioactive substances for radiation oncology; and License IA3 Use radiation apparatus for radiation oncology
Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Radiation Oncology at the role delineation of the service. Experience in treating Head and Neck and Prostate cancers would be advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
Availability to participate in an on‑call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
