Make a real impact supporting Australia’s Defence personnel Join Serco’s ADF Health Services team as a Medical Officer / General Practitioner and provide high-quality medical care to Defence members at Lavarack Health Centre. You’ll work in a modern, well-equipped facility alongside a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

About Lavarack Health Centre Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia. It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment. The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members. It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend shifts).

Your Impact We are seeking a Medical Officer / General Practitioner to join us in a permanent part time capacity, working

Monday and Tuesday 0730 to 1530.

As a Medical Officer, you will:

Deliver primary medical care in line with professional standards and Defence policies

Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to support Defence personnel

Assess fitness for duty and provide pre/post-deployment medical support

Provide medical technical advice to Defence leadership

Work across outpatient and inpatient care settings as needed

What You’ll Need

Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner

FRACGP, FACRRM, or Vocational Registration

Minimum 2 years’ full time (or part time equivalent) GP experience in the last 5 years

Australian Citizen – for Baseline Security Clearance requirements
