The Opportunity Are you a seasoned network security expert ready to lead transformative change in a dynamic environment? As our Network Security Technology Lead , you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and supporting secure network infrastructure across Medibank. You’ll be the go-to technical authority for complex faults, strategic product ownership, and driving innovation through automation and Zero Trust principles. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert-level support for firewalls, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and load balancers. Lead technical design and implementation of secure network and cloud services. Own and evolve technologies like Network Access Control, VPN, and SASE. Collaborate across teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions aligned with CIS/NIST standards. Drive compliance with frameworks including PCI-DSS, ISO27001, and uplift security posture. Champion automation and DevSecOps practices to streamline operations. Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Must Haves: Degree in IT or related field. 10+ years’ experience with Cisco routing and switching (CCIE certified). 5+ years’ experience with Fortinet technologies (NSE7 certified). Deep expertise in remote access, NAC, and certificate-based authentication. Proven ability to create and maintain detailed design documentation. Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and cloud routing protocols (e.g., IPSEC, GRE, GENEVE). Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, insurance). Strongly Desirable: Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, SASE). Experience with micro-segmentation and network management platforms. Background in mentoring and coaching technical teams.
