Due to continued growth, the firm is expanding its senior leadership capability within the tax function and is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join its professional services team.
About the Role
This is a key leadership position within the tax practice, offering a blend of client ownership, technical advisory, and people leadership.
You will manage a portfolio of clients across a broad range of industries, supported by junior and intermediate accountants, while playing an active role in mentoring staff and contributing to the ongoing growth of the firm. The role provides exposure to complex tax matters, business advisory work, and strategic client engagement.

Key responsibilities include:
Managing a portfolio of business and private clients
Delivering taxation compliance and advisory services
Reviewing tax returns, BAS/IAS, and financial statements prepared by team members
Preparing income tax returns and financial statements for companies, trusts, SMSFs, and individuals
Advising on business structuring, transactions, and operational tax matters
Providing strategic and commercial advice relating to acquisitions, divestments, mergers, and capital raising
Mentoring, coaching, and developing junior and intermediate staff
Maintaining proactive, professional client communication
Contributing to portfolio growth and strengthening client relationships
Preparing management reports and undertaking ad hoc advisory work as required
About You
You are a client‑focused tax professional with strong technical foundations and the confidence to lead both people and client relationships. You take pride in delivering high‑quality outcomes and enjoy working in a collaborative, professional environment.
You will bring:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
CPA or CA qualification (completed or in progress)
Minimum five years’ experience within public practice
Strong working knowledge of the Australian taxation system
Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns and financial statements
Experience with Xero, BGL, and the ATO Tax Agent Portal
Intermediate to advanced Excel and strong Microsoft Office skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven stakeholder management and relationship‑building capability
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
High attention to detail and a proactive, team‑oriented mindset
