Senior Data Scientist Drive advanced ML solutions in a leading organisation, leveraging Azure ML to deliver commercial outcomes across the business. Full-time, day-rate contract | Melbourne-based Exciting opportunity to drive ML delivery across commercial functions We are excited to partner with a well-known organisation and recognised leader in their industry to source an experienced Senior Data Scientist, based locally in Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-impact data team and play a key role in rolling out advanced Machine Learning initiatives across a complex, fast-paced commercial environment. The Opportunity Our client is a leader in their industry and is investing heavily in data science and AI to drive smarter, faster decision-making across the organisation. As part of this investment, they’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to build and deploy scalable ML solutions using Azure ML and MLOps frameworks. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify high-value use cases, develop and iterate on ML prototypes, and deliver production-ready models that create measurable business outcomes. The Role Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end ML models using Azure ML, Pipelines, and Data Factory Build quick proof-of-concepts to demonstrate feasibility and refine solutions for production Collaborate with stakeholders across commercial and technical teams to identify and prioritise business problems that can be solved with ML Own the entire ML lifecycle from data preprocessing and feature engineering through to deployment, monitoring, and retraining Implement scalable MLOps strategies including CI/CD, performance tracking, drift detection, and automated retraining Work cross-functionally with data engineers and software developers to embed models into production systems Champion ML best practices and reusable workflows across the broader team The Skills Required 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science and ML model development Expertise in Azure ML and MLOps, with strong capability in feature engineering, model evaluation, and deployment Proven experience developing and iterating on ML prototypes to quickly validate business value Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines for ML and real-world deployment strategies Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Previous experience in FMCG or supply chain industries are highly desirable Familiarity with recommendation systems, time-series forecasting or geospatial analytics is a bonus A collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment If you’re ready to apply your ML expertise in a commercially impactful way and help lead the machine learning rollout across a major industry leader,
